Metro East Home Vet Care has grown from a house-call practice into a low-stress clinic and integrative care team serving dogs, cats, and the people who love them.
Our story
Metro East Home Vet Care was founded in 2012 by Dr. Karen Louis as a house call exclusive practice for dogs and cats. She saw a need for a veterinarian to provide home visits, perform in-home euthanasias, and make vet care more accessible.
In 2017, Dr. Louis became certified in veterinary medical acupuncture. As demand increased, it became apparent a physical location was needed to meet the needs of our clients.
In 2019, the low-stress clinic in Belleville opened, which allowed us to see appointments in a home-like setting and offer x-rays, surgery, and dental procedures. Metro East Home Vet Care was the first and only clinic in the area to be certified in Low-Stress Handling.
