Metro East Home Vet Care was founded in 2012 by Dr. Karen Louis as a house call exclusive practice for dogs and cats. She saw a need for a veterinarian to provide home visits, perform in-home euthanasias, and just make vet care more accessible.
In 2017, Dr. Louis became certified in veterinary medical acupuncture. As demand increased, it became apparent a physical location was needed to meet the needs of our clients.
In 2019, the low-stress clinic in Belleville was opened, which allowed us to see appointments in a home-like setting, as well as offer x-rays, surgery and dental procedures. Metro East Home Vet Care was the first and only clinic in the area to be certified in Low-Stress Handling.
