Metro East Home Vet Care was founded in 2012 by Dr. Karen Louis as a house call exclusive practice for dogs and cats. She saw a need for a veterinarian to provide home visits, perform in-home euthanasias, and just make vet care more accessible.

In 2017, Dr. Louis became certified in veterinary medical acupuncture. As demand increased, it became apparent a physical location was needed to meet the needs of our clients.

In 2019, the low-stress clinic in Belleville was opened, which allowed us to see appointments in a home-like setting, as well as offer x-rays, surgery and dental procedures. Metro East Home Vet Care was the first and only clinic in the area to be certified in Low-Stress Handling.

Kelly has been us since 2015, and has been a vet tech for 14 years. Kelly is our Lead Tech, and helps with inventory, ordering, rebates, and lots more. She has a bachelors degree in psychology from McKendree University, and loves keeping the clinic organized! She has 5 cats and 2 dogs, and is a self proclaimed “crazy cat lady”.

Mandi worked at the Belleville Area Humane Society for years, then made the switch to the veterinary world. She loves working with all species, and has a dog and cat of her own. Mandi loves making house calls, and does the majority of home visits, as well as helps in clinic appointments.

Nichole is a Registered Veterinary Technician and is our Lead Surgery Tech. She was raised on an elk farm, and currently has a dog and cat. Nichole earned her veterinary technician degree from Sanford Brown, and has over 15 years of experience, having been with us since 2018.

Jordan is a California native who worked at another vet clinic for a year before starting with us, and she’s our newest addition to our team. Jordan has dogs, cats, birds, and a variety of other pets!

Lisa completed training for a registered veterinary technician, but was living abroad and could not complete the exam. While she may not have the title, she has the education! Lisa has 2 dogs and 2 cats, and works both in surgery and in the clinic.

Josie worked as a receptionist at another veterinary clinic for 6 years before coming to us. She loves meeting new people and pets, and enjoys taking seasonal photos of our patients! Josie has one dog whom she loves to spoil.

Carolyn has worked in the field for 20 years. She helps us out part time in the clinic, and we call her our “clinic grandma.” She has been with us since 2018.
